PATTEN ROCKS SPRINTCAR SPEEDWEEK
official release: Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek
December 7, 2024
Georgia born Texas based rocker Jason Patten will rock the 2024/2025 Brandt Australia Sprintcar Speedweek by laying his southern rock soundtrack to the newly unveiled TV Series.
Patten shot to prominence in 2019 when he wrote, performed and produced the mega “Stand on the Gas” song that was used as the theme for that year’s Knoxville Nationals.
The video clip was shot at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo Texas on a searing hot summer’s day by Sydney camera-man and producer Michael Geddes as part of the “Road to Knoxville” series.
Patten was earlier introduced to Wade Aunger through Jeff Burton and the two immediately hit it off – collaborating on the now iconic Stand on the Gas tune.
“I was born not far from Dixie Speedway in Woodstock Georgia,” says Patten, “so if anything my roots were maybe more Late Model than Sprintcar but then Wade and I got talking about what he wanted to do with Knoxville Raceway for the Nationals and we created ‘Stand on the gas’ in just a few weeks.”
Patten has a ripping back catalog and a bunch of new material that he’s handing over to use as the soundtrack to the “Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek TV” Series that will be screened over three one-hour shows on SBS Speedweek and SBS On-Demand.
“I love anything to do with Sprintcars and I think a lot of my material is well suited to the intensity and the badassness of the sport,” says Patten, “I can’t wait to introduce more folks to my music and have it be the soundtrack to the series in Australia and the USA.”
Patten’s “Stand on the gas” video was edited by Daniel Dea and A.J. Jackson – to view the clip click on this link:
The 2024/2025 Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek is proud and grateful to be associated with Jason Patten and can’t wait to unleash the new TV and promo material this summer.
