BRANDT SPRINTCAR SPEEDWEEK INKS FREE TO AIR TV DEAL
Official release: Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek
December 4, 2024

The 2024/2025 Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek Series will produce a special free to air Television deal both here in Australia and the USA.

The series will produce three one-hour TV specials to air on the iconic SBS Speedweek program which has a proud reputation for broadcasting motorsport for three decades.

And has a proud history with broadcasting Australian Sprintcar racing.

With an invaluable collaboration and contribution from the Clay-Per-View broadcast team to provide racing action from each round the “Sprintcar Speedweek” Series will feature a combination of interviews, tech pieces, colour stories, venue and town highlight tourism features and some seriously innovative side pieces to get the blood pumping.

Filming for the TV Series will commence next Thursday (December 12) and Friday (December 13) with two separate filming locations and schedules to create some truly unique and exclusive colour.

Celebrated TV camera-men Richard Rowley and Dene Henderson, along with visionary stills and now also videographer Gavin Skene will contribute their art to the ‘colour’ that will make up a large percentage of each show.

“The aim of the Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek TV Series is to produce the best possible summary of what Sprintcar racing is to the existing but also new audience. We want to showcase the best elements of the sport,” says producer Wade Aunger, “a large percentage of our shows will focus on the human elements, the back stories of the drivers, the growth and the investment in the industry by the teams, and the locations and investments of the host venues. This will be more than a racing show series. We have to reach a newer audience and we have to show the legitimacy of it as an entertainment medium and as the multi million dollar industry it is.”

The three one-hour specials will air on SBS Speedweek on the following dates – dates that not coincidentally fall on some major weekends for Australian Sprintcar racing.

Saturday, January 18
Saturday, January 25
Saturday, February 1

“We want the shows to air as soon as possible after Speedweek has concluded,” says Aunger, “to keep the content fresh and to target the traveling audience attending the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic and the SCCA Australian Sprintcar Championship at Murray Bridge the shows will air on January 18, January 25 and February 1 on SBS Speedweek. Fans who are attending races on those weekends will be able to watch the shows before heading out to that night’s racing.”

Shortly there will also be an announcement made about the shows airing in the USA in a breakthrough relationship that involves both production and broadcasting.

The programs will also air on SBS On-Demand so they can viewed at leisure.

Sponsorship packages for teams and companies wishing to contribute to the “Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek TV” Series can contact Wade Aunger at wadeaunger@gmail.com

“We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to be involved with the TV Series as a sponsorship partner,” says Aunger, “we have some very cost-effective packages created and anyone’s involvement will go a long way towards our production and filming goals. We’d love to talk more about it with you.”

More information on the “Brandt new era” for Sprintcar Speedweek with the new Free to Air TV Series, along with some expected further announcements on network involvement and coverage expansion will follow soon.

There’s more to come, you can count on it.

Ends release…
