In the last few years in particular South Australian hard charger Scott Bogucki has been steadily building his portfolio and racer cred in the high pressure world of American Sprintcar racing.

Amongst many other main event successes and podium visits he’s qualified for the A-Main for the biggest race on the planet – the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s at the Sprintcar Capital of the World for the last two years in a row.
In 2023 he came in through Hard Knox night but in 2024 he drove straight in for an immediate qualification – something that many drivers wait their whole careers to achieve, including Scott himself.
Bogucki is back home in SA with his family for Christmas, taking a well-earned break from another hectic season in the USA and enjoying the Aussie summer.
With his significant experience behind the wheel and on the spanners – and given that he’s spending part of his holidays with the ‘fam watching Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek – it was somewhat of a no-brainer to bring him into the Speedweek team in a specialist role.
Though he confesses to have no real experience in the field it was widely accepted by the Speedweek venues and admin that Scott would make an excellent ‘colour announcer’ for the live at track and TV Series coverage.
“Scott has loads of experience in all facets of Sprintcar racing both here in the USA and back home here in Australia,” says Avalon Promoter Jeff Drew, “we think he’ll give the fans a real insight into car set up, driver performances, track conditions and so many more aspects of racing because he’s been there and done that. We’re excited to have Scott join Wade (Aunger) in announcing the A-Mains at several of the rounds and give us all his insights. We think it’s a huge bonus for Speedweek having him involved.”
Bogucki will come into the series in the role of expert analysis where he’ll be asked his point of view on a range of topics during the A-Mains in particular.
“To be honest I’m hoping he’ll get the bug and do a lot more than just the A-Mains but I know he’s here to spend time with his family and not be ‘working’ all night. I’m excited about what he can bring to the table announcing with me,” says Wade Aunger, “I think he’ll give some really valuable perspectives to the table. After all he’s a guy who will understand more about the track, the racing lines, the performance and handling of the cars and in many cases why things might have played out like they did. It’s a shame that he’s not racing in Speedweek this year but this is the next best thing for us as fans and he can still spend that quality time with his family at our events.”
Bogucki’s colour commentary will be featured live at Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek rounds and also during the newly unveiled SBS Speedweek TV Series.
